What Does This Action Do?

The "Create Delivery" action in Zapier allows you to automatically create a new delivery in Shippify using data provided by a trigger from another app. This is ideal for automating the logistics process, saving time, and reducing errors.

Necessary Data to Create a Delivery

To use this action, it is important to provide the following information:

1. Package Information

  • Package Name (Required): Name or description of the package. Example: "Caixa".

  • Package Size (Required): Package size on a numeric scale of 1-5. Example: 2.

  • Package Price (Optional): Price of the package. Example: 0.

  • Package Weight (Optional): Weight of the package. Example: 0.

  • Package Quantity (Required): Number of packages. Example: 1.

2. Pickup Information

  • Pickup Contact Name (Required): Name of the contact at the pickup location. Example: "Engineer Shippify".

  • Pickup Contact Email (Optional): Email of the contact at the pickup location. Example: "engineerS@shippify.co".

  • Pickup Contact Phone Number (Required): Phone number of the contact at the pickup location. Example: "+573168258180".

  • Pickup Location Address (Required): Full address where the pickup will take place. Example: "av. nova cumbica, 1316 - vila nova cumbica, guarulhos - sp, 07231-000, brazil".

  • Pickup Location Instructions (Optional): Additional instructions for the pickup. Example: "Apto 101".

  • Pickup Location Latitude (Optional): Latitude of the pickup location. Example: -23.4525173.

3. Dropoff Information

How to Set Up the Action in Zapier

  1. Connect Your Shippify Account:

  • First, make sure your Shippify account is connected to Zapier. Go to "My Apps" in Zapier, search for "Shippify," and connect your account using your credentials.

  1. Select a Trigger:

  • Choose an app to act as the trigger (e.g. an order form, a new row in a spreadsheet, or a new order in your online store). We'll use this spreadsheet as an example.

  • Set up the trigger to fire the Zap when the desired event occurs (e.g. when a new order is received and you create a new row).

  1. Set up the Create Delivery Action:

  • Add the Shippify Create Delivery action to your Zap.

  • Map the trigger data to the required and optional fields provided by Shippify.

  1. Test and Activate your Zap:

  • Before activating your Zap, perform a test to ensure that the delivery is created correctly in Shippify. Once the test is successful, activate your Zap.

  • From now on, every time the trigger event occurs, a delivery will be automatically created in Shippify.

Usage Examples

  • Create deliveries when a new row is added to a shared spreadsheet.

  • Create deliveries when an email with a specific format is received.

  • Create deliveries when a Slack message with a specific format is received.

  • Create deliveries when a file is sent via webhook.

Common Troubleshooting

  • Incorrect or Missing Data: Ensure that all required fields (name, phone number, address) are correctly mapped from the trigger. Incorrect mapping can cause the delivery to fail or be created with incomplete data.

  • Authentication Error: If Zapier is unable to connect to your Shippify account, check that your credentials are correct.
